British High Commissioner meets the Prime Minister of Tonga Featured
His Excellency Mr. Roderick Drummond, the British High Commissioner to Tonga
Nuku'alofa, 18 Mrch 2016. His Excellency Mr. Roderick Drummond, the British High Commissioner to Tonga paid a courtesy visit to the Hon. Prime Minister Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva at the Ministry of Foreign Affair’s Office on Wednesday the 16th of March, 2016.
His Excellency and the Hon. Prime Minister were pleased to discuss the upcoming celebrations of the 90th birthday of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday will be celebrated in April, May and June of this year in the United Kingdom.
The Tonga Government hopes to host an event to commemorate this important milestone and to demonstrate the strong ties that still exist between the Kingdom of Tonga and the British Royal Family and the United Kingdom.
The festivities in Tonga will be confirmed later after a meeting between the His Excellency and Chief Secretary and Secretary to Cabinet, Dr Palenitina Langa’oi.
