2. It sounds like breaking waves
Of iron trees in dew-falling nights
Alas! It‘s the sacred nose-flute
The harp of Fangatapu
Putting the monarch to sleep

3. In gratitude for the nation-building
That the Friendly Isles long last
For the cross is still flying
A true testimony to the best
God and Tonga are my heritage
