Mr. Yukio Numata, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga awarded winners of the 7th Japanese Speech Contest on Friday, 22 April at the St. Andrew’s School Hall. 27 April, 2016. Miss Anna Jane Vea will represent Tonga at commemorations for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme in France in September.  The New Zealand sponsored trip to France is Miss Vea’s prize for winning a World War I essay competition run by the New Zealand High Commission.
