Crown Prince receives fleet of vehicles from China Featured
Nuku'alofa, 2 July 2015. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto’a Ulukalala received on a fleet of 30 cars, URVs and buses from the Government of the Peoples’ Republic of China at the Taliai Army Camp in Fua’amotu on Saturday, June 27.
The fleet is China’s gift for the Coronation of His Majesty King Tupou VI and will be used to transport VIPs and guests during the week-long celebrations. Chinese Ambassador Mr Huang Huaguang signed the handover documents with the Minister for Finance and National Planning, Hon Dr Aisake Eke before he presented the keys to Crown Prince Tupouto’a.
In his presentation speech Mr Huaguang said the Chinese Government had made the allocation of the vehicles last year.
He said they were happy to be able to assist Tonga in the Coronation event. Dr Eke said the Government of Tonga appreciates the continuing assistance given by the people of China towards Tonga.
Crown Prince Tupouto’a inspected the vehicles after he was presented with the keys. The fleet included 10 cars, 15 URVs and 10 buses.
