China Tonga Boost Tourism Cooperation Featured
Nuku'alofa, 14 July 2015. On July 3 2015, China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and Tongan Ministry of Tourism signed an MOU on tourism cooperation.
It was signed by H.E. Li Jinzao, Chairman of CNTA and Special Envoy of Chinese President for His Majesty’s Coronation and Hon. ‘Etuate Lavulavu, Minister for Infrastructure and Tourism.
H.E. Mr. Huang Huaguang, Chinese Ambassador in Tonga and H.E. Mr. Tau'aika 'Uta'atu also attended the bilateral meeting and signing ceremony in Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
During the meeting, H.E. Li Jinzao announced that in order to further promote the bilateral cooperation in tourism sector, CNTA will introduce 100 Chinese travel agencies as well as 1000 visitors to visit Tonga in 2015.
According to the MOU, China and Tonga will conduct cooperation in areas of information sharing, marketing promotion, personnel training and etc. CNTA will offer complementary booths to Tonga for participating in China International Travel Mart and facilitate the marketing activities of Tonga in China.
CNTA will also host a tourism talent training workshop for South Pacific countries including Tonga.
