Six contestants for the Miss Pacific Islands in Tonga Featured
27 November, 2018. Six Pacific contestants are in Nuku’alofa this week to contest for the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant’s crown under the theme ‘The Magnificent Pacific’.
The reigning Miss Pacific Islands, Matauaina Toomalatai said, winning the Miss Pacific Islands title is such a humble experience.
She told the contestants that they can do more when they come together in order to make a difference because it is a shared responsibility.
“Stop worrying about things that you cannot control and focus on the things that you can control as a part of yourself.”
The contestants include: Miss American Samoa Magalita Philomena Johnson, Miss Tuvalu Emelipelesa Panapa, Miss Cook Islands Reihana Koteka-Wiki, Miss Papua New Guinea Leoshina Mercy Kariha, Miss Samoa Sonia Piva and Miss Tonga Kalo Taila Funganitao.
Other formal activities for the contestants include cultural dinner, charity visits, sightseeing and others.
The Pre Pageant Interview, Sarong Wear, Talent and Traditional Inspired Wear will be held on Thursday November 29, followed by the float parade, island formal ball, stage interview and the crowning on Friday November 30.
