On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States of America, I send my sincerest congratulations to the Kingdom of Tonga on your National Day on November 4th.
Tonga and the United States have a long history together, built on a foundation of cooperation and common interest, on mutual respect and shared values. The United States welcomes the Kingdom of Tonga’s commitments to promoting a safe, sustainable and clean Pacific Ocean.
We appreciate the contributions Tonga has made to global security. We recognize the richness of Tongan culture and its contributions to American society. As our relationship continues to develop, the United States looks forward to collaborating with the Kingdom of Tonga to take on the new challenges ahead.
The United States wishes a joyful day of celebration to our friends and partners in the Kingdom of Tonga. We hope this year continues to bring you peace and prosperity.
