6 September, 2019. The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce arrested seven people with illicit drugs on Tuesday 3 rd of September 2019, in an ongoing drug operation targeting suppliers of illicit drugs.
One woman and six men were arrested and 20.85 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of cocaine and drugs utensils were seized by police from two locations at Ngele’ia and ‘Anana.
The seven arrested;
– a 40-year-old man from Ma’ufanga
– a 37-year-old man from ‘Amaile
– a 36-year-old man from Ngele’ia
– a 35-year-old man from Fanga
– a 34-year-old man from Mataika
– a 25-year-old man from Ngele’ia
– a 24-year-old woman from ‘Amaile
Among those arrested is a suspended police officer.
“This is a significant seizure, which has a potential to cause serious harm to our local community.
There is no denying the detrimental impact illicit drugs has on people’s lives,” said Deputy Police Commissioner Pelenatita Fe’ao Vaisuai.
Police continues to work hard and smart through education and strict enforcement in its drive to disrupt the supply of illicit drugs and to reduce the harm to our community.
DPC Vaisuai says she wants to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of staff who were involved in the seizure, and their commitment to intercepting the supply of this harmful drug, keeping our communities safe and protected.

All accused persons are in police custody.
