26 October, 2016. With hurricane season just around the corner, Tonga celebrated it's first of many cyclone-resistant homes being built by Habitat for Humanity.
15 September, 2016. Tonga is amongst a few countries in the world to receive a Himawari-8 Satellite Receiver through the assistance of the Japanese Meteorological Administration (JMA) through the Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
8 August, 2016. A frontal system lies slow moving over Tongatapu, ‘Eua and Ha’apai. It has been generally overcast with rain in Tongatapu and Eua since yesterday.

Nuku'alofa, 7 April 2016. Tonga experienced heavy rain and high winds this morning but it appears cyclone Zena has weakened significantly as the remnants of the cyclone drift away from the country.
