Heavy rain warnings remain in force for Tongatapu,‘Eua and Ha’apa

8 August, 2016. A frontal system lies slow moving over Tongatapu, ‘Eua and Ha’apai. It has been generally overcast with rain in Tongatapu and Eua since yesterday.

The attendant conditions that are normally associated with this kind of weather system including rainfall and cool air and have affected Tongatapu and ‘Eua since yesterday.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Tongatapu, ‘Eua and Ha’apai.

Forecast

It is anticipated that heavy rain with isolated thunderstorms continue on for this evening with rain easing to showers tomorrow and clearing up on Wednesday afternoon. Wind generally light to moderate east to northeast winds with gust up to 25 knots expected in area of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
