One of the subjects of conversation between Tonga’s Prime Minister, ‘Akilisi Pohiva, and Fiji’s Prime Minister Frank Voreqe Bainimarama, during their meeting last week in Fiji, had to do with Fiji Airways and possible international scheduled flights between Nadi and Vava’u.
Two of Tonga’s Ministers who had accompanied the Prime Minister to Fiji met with Fiji Airways Officials in Nadi to discuss the proposal of direct flights between Nadi and Vava’u.
Hon. ‘Etuate Lavulavu, Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, Hon. Poasi Tei, Minister of Public Enterprises, as well as Viliami Ma’ake, CEO of Tonga Airport Limited (TAL) represented Tonga in the negotiations. According to Hon.
