Fatal crash at Kolonga this morning ^Featured

Deputy Commissioner Pelenatita Vaisuai says “A Rental car travelling north east along Talasiu Road swerved and hit a young coconut tree on the right side of the road. The driver, front and right rear passengers died on impact with the fourth passenger who was seated at the left rear, survived but in critical condition in hospital.”

The driver and passengers are all male from Kolonga.

Their ages are;

1. Driver – 25 years old

2. Front passenger – 44 years old

3. Right Rear passenger – 14 years old

4. Left rear passenger – 21 years old (survivor)

Police have confirmed that alcohol and speeding were contributing factors to the crash.

No further information about the deceased will be released until formal identification and the process to inform next of kin have been completed.

Police investigations are on-going.
