9 June, 2016. Pacific Trade & Invest (PT&I) New Zealand will be promoting a range of food and beverage products from the Pacific Islands to potential importers and distributors at the upcoming Fine Food New Zealand.

This will be the first year that PT&I NZ participates at this event. Fine Food New Zealand is a trade show that is held every two years.

It is a trade-only event and this year it will be held at ASB Showgrounds in Auckland, 26-28 June 2016.

Fine Food New Zealand is the country’s foremost international trade exhibition for the food service, hospitality, and retail industries. The three-day event will gather a number of New Zealand and international companies under one roof – an ideal promotional platform for the Pacific Islands.

The event will provide an opportunity to connect with potential distributors for Pacific Island products and gauge the competitiveness of these products in the market.

In 2014, a total of 6,404 high quality trade visitors attended the trade show over three days and were highly satisfied with their visit. Buyers came from a range of industry sectors, with the majority of visitors (88.3%) discovering new products, services or suppliers of commercial interest at the show.

PT&I will promote a range of premium niche products from the Pacific Islands at Fine Food New Zealand. This includes cassava flour, virgin coconut oil, sea grapes and kava shots from Fiji; coffee and coffee capsules from Papua New Guinea; coconut oil and cocoa paste from Samoa; chocolates from the Solomon Islands; virgin coconut oil and certified organic spices from Vanuatu.

“We are promoting Pacific products are branded, well packaged and have unique back stories which can provide potential distributors with a point of difference in the market place,” says PT&I Trade Development Manager, Joe Fuavao.

PT&I has taken a new approach this year by developing a supply chain partnership with a New Zealand distributor to promote Pacific Island products in the market.

For Fine Food New Zealand, PT&I has partnered with The Produce Company Ltd a food and beverage distributor in New Zealand to promote a select range of products from the Pacific Islands.
