Expo 2020 Dubai - 192 countries to showcase cultures, people and commerce

12 November, 2021. Opportunities for nations, industries and businesses abound.

The Kingdom of Tonga Expo team are looking for all opportunities to raise our profile on this global stage and a positive step forward in this direction, was having the Ambassador to the UAE and Commissioner General for Tonga Expo, Honourable ‘Akau’ola being selected as the guest of honour at the 14th annual IAC (International Achievers Conference) Summit, held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Dubai on 10th November.

This prestigious event recognizes and awards the business community for their successes and this particular year, it did so, with a focus on surviving and flourishing throughout the Covid 19 pandemic.

In the presence of Their Excellencies Dr. Mahmoud Al Burai, Global Goodwill Ambassador and UN Global Compact MENA Representative, and Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi, former Minister of Environment & Water, UAE and former Representative of permanent mission of the UAE to the United Nations in New York, Honourable ‘Akau’ola addressed and then presented the awards to the standout businesses.

Hon. ‘Akau’ola expressed his gratitude in being selected for this honour and said that “this was a great opportunity to network with high profile business people here in Dubai, as well as those that flew in for the event from India, and it provided an excellent forum for initiating discussions for potential business opportunities in and for our Kingdom.”

Expo2020 began on 1st October and runs through to the end of March 2022.

The Expo team continues to promote the Kingdom and Ambassador ‘Akau’ola continues to invite Tongan owned or affiliated businesses to make contact, if they have an interest in expanding markets.
