Seven people arrested with illicit drugs Featured
27 June, 2021. The relentless commitment of the Tonga Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce (DET) in targeting and disrupting drug dealers’ illicit activities resulted in the arrest of seven (7) people along with illicit drugs, utensils, and cash from five (5) different locations on Tongatapu between Wednesday, 16th June to Thursday, 24th June 2021.
Seizures include 12.12 grams of methamphetamine, 0.79 grams of cannabis, and over $21,000 Pa’anga.
Among those arrested were 6 males and 1 female with ages ranged from 26 years to 45 years.
“Our fight against drugs is ongoing and we continue to urge communities to remain vigilant and share information with Police. Remember, we are stronger together!”, appeals Acting Deputy Commissioner Halatoa Taufa.
“It is our collective responsibility to protect our children and communities from the harmful effects of drugs by exposing and bringing drug dealers to account.”
