17 January, 2017. The Ministry of Commerce, Consumer, Trade, Innovation & Labour wishes to advise that the Tonga Competent Authority (TCA) has approved the new petroleum prices for January – February 2017 to be effective from Monday 16th January 2017.

13 January, 2017. Mrs Victorina (Dorina) Kioa of Tofoa, Tongatapu, has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Office of the Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. Mrs Kioa has been appointed effective, 1st December 2016 until such time a new Chief Executive Officer has been appointed.

21 September, 2016. Tonga Power Limited’s CEO, Mr. Robert Matthews and CEO of Zhuhai Singyes Green Building Technology Co. Ltd, Mr. Sam Leung have signed a long term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) at the Zhuhai Singyes headquarters in China on September 12, 2016 for the construction and commissioning of a 2 Megawatt solar facility at Matatoa, on His Majesty’s land at Mata- ki -‘Eua.
