Nuku'alofa, 19 January 2016. The Acting Minister for Internal Affairs, Hon. Tevita Lavemaau today opened a four-day training on “Child Protection in Emergencies at both national and sub national levels”  at the Tonga National Centre,  in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

19 January, 2016. The Pacific island of Tonga is the most obese country in the world. Up to 40% of the population is thought to have diabetes and life expectancy is falling. One of the main causes is a cheap, fatty kind of meat - mutton flaps - imported from New Zealand.
