PM Pohiva aiming for more of the same says Kalafi Moala Featured

Kalafi Moala Kalafi Moala

19 December, 2017. A Tongan commentator and publisher Kalafi Moala believes it will be more of the same from the re-elected prime minister 'Akilisi Pohiva.

Mr Pohiva, who was effectively sacked by the King back in August, has returned as leader for a second term.

Mr Pohiva's Democratic Party had won 14 of the 17 Peoples' Representatives seats in the election on 16 November and he won his prime ministerial election on Monday in parliament by the same amount.

The other contender, former deputy prime minister Siaosi Sovaleni, got 12.

Mr Moala said during the election Mr Pohiva was seeking a second chance.

"He's basically saying 'we are going to get back in and finish what we have started' and, of course ,what they have started is a big question mark because the last three years have been full of all kinds of scandals and all kinds of issues that actually resulted in the dissolution of parliament," he said.

"But let's see what happens in the next four years."

The only work they have started, which they are now going to finish according to 'aki, are: (i) the destruction of Tonga's social system i.e. getting rid of the King, nobles and the chiefly system. That's why 'aki made himself Minister of Defence so that he could copy what Bainimarama did in Fiji; (ii) changing the land tenure system so that they take total control of the land and sell them to the Chinese and their other friends, leaving the people landless, homeless and in extreme poverty; (iii) putting their own people in key government positionsns e.g. tu'i uata; (iv) diverting more millions to the pathetic Tukutonga Park and golf course: (v) getting rid of all good-minded people and replacing them with idiots, puppets and ptoa sympathisers.
The sad thing is, not many people are able to see him through this lens. People of Tonga, please wake up before it's too late.

SPOT ON KALAFI MOALA...a destructive government was their last act, and we cannot expect anything different from the same actors. They are incapable of proactively thinking for the future of the country, since they're too busy recycling the same old hate-mongering mentality.
