The Security equipment is valued at 65,000 US dollars and will be used for screening of passengers and hand held luggage on departing international flights, as required by international aviation security standards.

An upgrade of the Vava'u Terminal is now complete with renovation work providing new toilet facilities, new signage and an upgrade to the check-in area.

The work was also valued at 65,000 US dollars.

Tonga is discussing exploring opportunities for direct flights with Fiji Airways from Nadi to Vava'u and also connecting to Australia, Samoa, New Zealand and the US.
