8 May, 2023.  The Prime Minister, Honourable Hu’akavameiliku held discussions with the United Kingdom Minister of State for Indo-Pacific, Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in London on May 3.

15 March 2023. Tonga Power Limited (TPL) has commissioned a new solar and battery energy storage system in Vava’u, Tonga, with the financial support of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Asian Development Bank, Government of Australia and inkind contribution from Government of Tonga and Tonga Power Limited.

9 March, 2023. The 4 March 2023 marked the conclusion of historic negotiations of the Intergovernmental conference on an international legally binding instrument under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction.

5 March, 2023. The Ministry of Finance hosted and led the 2023 Government of Tonga’s Annual Development Partner Forum at Fa’onelua Convention Centre on the 28th February, 2023 with the theme “Partnership for Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Development”.

1 March, 2023. The Prime Minister of Tonga, Honourable Hu’akavameiliku, joined Pacific Islands Forum Leaders, at the Sheraton Resort on Denarau Island, Nadi, Fiji last week in the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Special Retreat, hosted by the Government of Fiji.

20 February, 2023. Japanese Ambassador to Tonga H.E Mr MUNENAGA Kensaku and the Minister for Finance, Revenue and Customs Hon Tiofilusi Tiueti signed contracts for three new projects funded by the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots (GGP) on February 14 at the Ministry of Finance’s Conference Room.

18 February, 2023. The Government of Tonga’s National Emergency Management Office (NEMO) in partnership with the World Bank commenced stakeholder consultations on the draft DRM Policy Framework in Tongatapu.
