Ms. Rosamond Carter Bing of Ngele’ia and Kolomotu’a as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources
15 May, 2017. The Public Service Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Rosamond Carter Bing of Ngele’ia and Kolomotu’a as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, who will assume this position effective on Monday, 15 May 2017.
Ms. Bing will be responsible for navigating the Ministry through a changing and challenging social and economic environment, as well as the continuing drive by the Public Service Commission to managing the Government’s operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Ms. Bing is a law graduate of the Australian National University where she also attained a Master of Laws (Government and Commercial Law). She has been a member of the Tongan Bar since 2001.
Ms. Bing brings her experience and expertise to meet these challenges with her extensive knowledge of administrative law and land law, the diversity of her work experience in the public service and private sector, as well as her strategic leadership and capabilities.
With over 10 years of experience in the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Ms. Bing has progressed through her public service career in the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources in 2002 from her first posting as a Principal Assistant Secretary, then most recently as a consulting Legal Administrator.
Her extensive experience is coupled with a firm belief in the role of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as a Ministry that serves its principal stakeholders, protects the public interest and contributes to the Kingdom’s prosperity ambitions.
She is keen to continue to promote and implement improvements within the Ministry with a view to delivering a high standard of services and products to the Ministry’s clients and to ensure that the public are well served.
With her appreciation of networking and collaboration, Ms. Bing will take advantage of the relationships and opportunities she has fostered over her career to support her in the next four years.
The Commission notes this appointment as a historical occasion for two female siblings from the Bing Family to be appointed CEOs of a government ministry. Ms Bing’s younger sibling, Ms Ana Bing Fonua is the CEO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Public Service Commission welcomes Ms. Bing to her new appointment and wishes her well in her tenure as CEO of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
