China Aid Fua’amotu Road Upgrade Project Starts Construction Featured
H.E. Huang Huaguang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China and Mr. Penisimani Fifita, Member of Parliament for Tongatapu No.9 and representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure joined the celebration
Nuku’alofa-On 23 March 2016, people in Fua’amotu community gathered to celebrate the construction of new road for the community.
The project funded by China in collaboration with Tongan Ministry of Infrastructure and local community in Fua’amotu. China would provide 40,000 Pa’anga for the diesel and professional works for the project.
In his remarks, H.E. Ambassador Huang reaffirmed China’s determination to provide assistance for the development of infrastructure in the Kingdom of Tonga, which is “the key for the development of a community as well as the Kingdom as a whole”.
Mr. Penisimani Fifita made a speech to express appreciation for the fund from China and the assistance from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Land and Ministry of Public Enterprises for the preparation works.
The new road is adjutant to Scenic Hotel near the Fua’amotu airport.
