“ All the talks and get together seem always to fall on deaf ears . One must comprehend what cause world climate change in the first place , to understand why the island nations of the Pacific are ignored . The world of the RICH and POWERFUL holds the key for the REDUCTION of climate change as also any country that releases pollutant into the atmosphere , or the environment . So ! what knowledge could the tiny island states of the Pacific show the industrialized nations that could be incorporated to what they already know , what cause global warming . The nations of the Pacific are made up of small islands and tiny atolls with the exception of New Caledonia which has a nickel smelter . none has anything worth mentioning . The dialogue will always be among the trading countries that have heavy industries which spew pollution into the atmosphere , so why would somebody bother to talk to small nation who is not worth a dime ? We in the Pacific can kick and scream all we want but the treatment will as it has always been , give aid money for some small useless project to distract them from the issue at hand . Lets be realistic the RICH and POWERFUL don't give two hoots what small impoverished countries think , Unless it in line with their agenda , look around our backyard some of our neighbours are swimming in their living room at high tide and it didn't happened overnight , the sea continued to rise due to climate change till now some islands are under water at high tide or when the sea is rough , WHAT COULD I A SMALL WEAK POOR COUNTRY DO TO SAVE MY HOMELAND FROM SINKING BENEATH THE WAVES . The weak are at the mercy of the INDUSTRIALIZED nations and they are too busy squabbling over who will make more money and to hell with the consequences . God help the island nations 'cause no one else really care . Yes , keeping pestering the big guys and maybe they will get tired off the noise and do something . Leaders of island nations too are as bad as the rich and powerful because of their greed they turn a blind eye to what's happening . ”
