11 April, 2019. Fullback Israel Folau's latest anti-gay comments on social media are "unacceptable" and its integrity unit will look into the matter, Rugby Australia (RA) says.

Wallabies international Folau, one of Australia's top players and most marketable athletes, wrote on Instagram that gays would be condemned to "hell" if they failed to "repent".

New South Wales Waratahs player Folau, an evangelical Christian, made similar comment last April

"Rugby Australia is aware of a post made by Israel Folau on his Instagram account this afternoon," Australian rugby's governing body said in a statement yesterday.

"The content within the post is unacceptable. It does not represent the values of the sport and is disrespectful to members of the rugby community.

"The Rugby Australia Integrity Unit has been engaged on the matter tonight."

Folau, 30, also condemned, in a Twitter post, a landmark decision on Wednesday by the Australian state of Tasmania to make it legally optional to list gender on birth certificates.

In February, Folau extended his Wallabies deal until 2022 ahead of this year's World Cup, although contract negotiations were complicated by his conservative religious views.

Folau faced no sanctions in April last year for anti-gay comments after RA said it accepted his position that he did not mean to harm the game.

Folau had offered to walk away from the sport if RA found itself in an untenable position with sponsors and fans.

This is what happens when one rocks the boat . The world perception of whats right and decent , to what's wrong and disgusting has changed ; and when Government legalized it, then it becomes the norm . It's takes guts to denounce such behavior , specially when doing so one is vilified and persecuted for speaking out . The hypocrisy of it all defies comprehension ; we condemn pedophilia as indecent and abhorrent ; yet we condone GAY and LESBIAN living as something normal ? Almighty God said " MAN SHALL NOT LIE WITH A MALE AS WITH A WOMEN " it's an abomination (leviticus 18 19 ) . Church leaders should come out in support of Isileli . One sin leads to another ! Because he's a pacific islander makes it more intolerable .

NO MONOPOLY ON "HATE SPEECH"...THANK YOU FAHINA...but nobody gets to point a finger at anyone with "hate speech" accusations. Your freedom to contest Israel Folau's right to free speech is "hate speech". You're rallying call to fellow anti-Christians to rally against Folau because he voiced his disagreement with LGBT supporters is "hate speech". Politically-correct crowds wish to suppress rights to free speech by assigning "hate speech" labels to people who disagree with them - especially Christians.
Supporters of LGBT don't agree with Folau's Bible reference perhaps because they don't believe in the Bible. So, why do they care if they don't believe in the Christian God?
They can declare their belief in the sanctity of Tangaloa, Maui, and Lono, etc., which would give them the Polynesian belief of choosing your own god. But they cannot pretend believing in the Christian God whose teachings in the Bible are written in stone.

We just don't know what does "inclusive" means when RA describes themselves as an inclusive organisation... to be inclusive means that we take and employ people and accepted people with various different views a way of life. The discussions now shifted to hate speech .. that what Folau has shared is a condemnation of homosexuality which constitutes to hate speech.. Politically correctness and its ugly head wilting in Australian Rugby and Community. Folau was just sharing a biblical verse which has been shared by many people before. Of course it was done out of love until proven in court that to say "drunkness and adultoraty are going to hell " equal hate...

GOOD ON FOLAU TO EXPRESS HIS BELIEF ACCORDING TO HIS RELIGIOUS BELIEF IN THE BIBLE...facing condemnation is the risk he takes, but few brave Christians can take the stand anymore. Folau expresses a personal view, and the RA can make the distinction. Censorship comes in many forms to silence an opinion differ from the authorities. Is Australia a democracy or a Police State to censor and silence free speech?
