MA60 certification met all relevant requirements under Tonga Civil Aviation Act 2014

6 September, 2016. The Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Infrastructure confirms that certifications conducted under the MA60 aircraft registration no. A3-RTL has met all relevant requirements under the Tonga Civil Aviation Act 2014 and Tonga Civil Aviation Rules.

In a official letter circulated to the media, the Acting Director of Civil Aviation Division Mrs. Vinolia K. Salesi  assures to the public that the Type Acceptance Certificate issued on 20 March 2013 is a valid document and was issued under Tongan law and consistent with ICAO requirements

Mrs. Salesi stated in her letter that there are no apparent grounds for the Civil Aviation Division to review, amend, suspend or revoke the type acceptance certificate under the new Civil Aviation Act 2014. The type acceptance certificate was properly and lawfully issued under international civil aviation law and established States practice.

According to Salesi, the certificate was saved under section 237(2) of the new Civil Aviation Act 2014, after the old Act and Regulations were repealed with effect from 7 February 2015.
