What a great cautionary tale it truly is Koro Vaka'uta - certainly a true tale of a Tongan without the tongue, cleverly formulated in a heliaki metaphorical style. As actual temporal-spatial, formal-substantial and functional-practical entities, knowledge, culture and language are inseparable (yet indispensable) in reality, as in nature, mind and society. Not to be able to speak the Tongan language may mean missing out altogether on the knowledge composed in culture as a human receptacle and communicated in language as social vehicle.
